Promotional Flyer Christmas 1917/18 Over the years there have been many Tiller Troupes performing all over the world. Recently I have been contacted by a number of people trying to contact friends made while dancing with a Tiller Troupe. The Sixties Tillers still keep in contact and until recently still performed together at various functions. Possibly the earliest photograph of the Tiller Girls 1891, 3rd from left Madge Vernon (Primrose) Then 5th from the left or second in from Right is Bessie Cohen who went on to be a well known stage name. In 1891 John Tiller started a group he called the Tiller Quartette (John Tiller often played with the spelling), They were Patti Bell, Madge Vernon, and Amy Knott

Reported in The performer September 26th 1957 On Saturday September 28th 1957 The Tiller Schools of Dance will notch up a notable "first." For the first time in the long history of the Tiller Tropes, a Tiller Troupe of twelve girls will fly over to Dusseldorf for a single appearance on German TV. The transmission will be made on Sunday from dusseldorf, and the following day the girls will fly home. All of which again stresses the importance that TV now boasts in the scheme of international entertainment. The engagement was arranged through the Johnnie Riscoe Variety Agency Ltd.
